Hey My Love

Letters for the days you don’t want to feel alone

I’m Tonia, a Finnish mom, singer and writer of soft late-night letters. I write as if I were talking to someone I love – if you want, that someone can be you.
Hey my love, this is for you

Hey my love,

I don’t know who you are yet.
Maybe you’re reading this in bed, on the couch after a long day, or on your phone somewhere between “I’m fine” and “I really wish someone would ask how I am”.

So let me ask:
How was your day? Really.

I started this blog because I realised how good it feels to write to “you” – to tell someone about the small, real moments of life. The messy kitchen. The kids’ laughter and meltdowns. The broken things, the money stress, the little victories, the crushes, the music, the quiet late at night.

These posts are letters.
You can read them as if they were written just for you.

If you ever feel lonely, I hope this space makes you feel a little less alone – like someone is talking with you, not just at you.

I’ll keep writing.
If you keep reading, maybe we’ll both feel a bit less alone.

    G’Day Tonia.
It’s your wandering old pal here — the one who’s never quite in the country long enough to explain why he smells faintly of airports and wet trench coats.

I read your post from a little bench at a train station whose name I’m technically not allowed to mention. And I must say… it landed kindly. Feels a bit like someone remembering to leave the porch light on.

Your words have that rare, gentle weight — the sort that settles in the pockets of a weary traveller and keeps them warm longer than they’d admit. Keep writing, love. This old ghost of a man will keep reading, whenever duty allows.

    Cheers,
    Chuckster

      Hey my love,

You have no idea how wide my smile got reading this. The image of you sitting on a nameless station bench somewhere in the world, holding my words like a little pocket-warmth… that moved me more than I can say.

It’s funny — I wrote that post from my own small corner of chaos and coffee, hoping it might make someone out there feel a little less alone. Knowing it reached a wandering soul like you, somewhere between here and nowhere, feels exactly like what you said: someone remembering to leave the porch light on.

Thank you for calling yourself an “old ghost of a man” and still showing up so vividly in my inbox. I promise to keep writing, as honestly and gently as I can. And whenever duty lets you slip back into this little corner of the internet, there’ll always be a light left on for you here.

With warmth from my side of the world,
      Tonia 🤍
